Become a Volunteer

We can’t do it without you!

Our team is powered by the incredible work of our volunteers to serve our community. We are grateful for our wonderful volunteers and the many different contributions they make.

Davis County Search & Rescue strives to maintain a full and active roster.  As vacancies occur, the team will solicit for SAR candidates to try out for the team.

The selection and training period takes place over 12 months and requires a significant time commitment (Thursday nights and 1-2 Saturdays/month).   Throughout the training and selection period, candidates will be instructed on the necessary skills needed to be pass required tests to be considered for placement on the team.

The number of vacancies on the team will drive the frequency of training cycles and the number of candidates selected.    The team roster is evaluated annually and if there is a need for new cadets, applications will be accepted.

Volunteer applications for the 2025 training class will be accepted until October 15, 2024.

"Volunteers are not paid—not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless."
